Selwyn families are working harder than ever and still falling behind. Sunita will push for action on the everyday costs that hurt most — food, power, rates and rents — and for an economy where wage growth actually outpaces the bills.

More homes built where people need them, and healthier homes for renters and owners alike.
Selwyn is one of the fastest-growing districts in the country. Growth must come with the housing supply, insulation standards and infrastructure to match, so young families and older residents alike can stay in the communities they love.

Decent pay, secure hours and strong protections for working people.
As a unionist's daughter and union member, Sunita believes work should be safe, secure and fairly paid. She will back training pathways, apprenticeships and the collective rights that lift wages across whole industries.

Support for the small businesses, farms and growers that power the Selwyn economy.
Sunita has run two early childhood education businesses and now teaches and mentors business students. She understands cashflow, compliance and hiring from the inside, and will be a candidate small business can actually talk to.

Safer roads, better public transport links and services people can reach.
Distance shouldn't decide the quality of your life. Sunita will advocate for safer rural roads, better connections between Selwyn's townships and Christchurch, and services designed for people who can't simply drive an hour to get them.

Health, education and community services that keep pace with growth.
From GP access to school capacity to community facilities, Selwyn's services need to grow with its people. Sunita's record on community boards and trusts is about exactly this: getting the practical things done that make a place work.
